This bird is also present in our town, they have this different kind of nest hanging in our tree and they often feed on nectar of flowers in our gardens..
Angelo from Candoni, Neg. Occ.
OMG!!!! Majestic. I can imagine how thrilling it must have been to be able to see the Philippine eagle close enough to photograph it in flight. WOW.
Thanks Florian. It is indeed a one of a kind experience!
Thanks Angelo. The one you’re seeing in your garden is a relative of this Apo Sunbird. We have several kinds of sunbird, but this Apo Sunbird can be found in Mindanao only. Maybe the one from your garden is an Olive-backed Sunbird? Check out this picture here.
Im so glad i found this website. Didn’t know your company existed until now. I hope one day I can afford to go on a tour with you guys. Im so surprised to find out that we have so many beautiful birds. I live here in Florida and I do see birds everyday in my yard but nothing as beautiful as these birds.
Many thanks Eileen for dropping by. Be sure to check out our pages regularly and hope to see you birding in our beautiful islands.
Was in Sarangani to write about this event: http://cctmalungon.blogspot.com/2014/03/malungon-retreat-and-training-center.html.
Heard 12 bird calls between 6:30 – 7:00 am on March 29 and heard a woodpecker’s drilling sounds for the first time! So thrilled!
Any birds from the visayas???
This is a wonderful photo of the buzzing flowerpecker. Where in Mindanao did you take it? Thank you!
Hi Khryss, this was taken in Mt. Kitanglad in Bukidnon.
Hi Flo. We have some from Bohol and Negros. Check it out in our Birds from Other Islands page. Thank you for dropping by.
I have passion red flowers over my clay roof. I often see this tiny yellow breasted Sun birds in twos taking its nectar. You’ll never miss it ,because they make “sssit” sounds, as if calling the other to take turns.
